Hotel Bookings · To Reserve
Only two nights need a hotel
Every other night is hosted by family or relatives. Skipping the Venice overnight saved one hotel booking; the relative in Verona collects you in the evening for the one-hour drive.
Rome · 22–23 May (2 nights) — best neighbourhoods to look in: Monti (central, walkable, lively), Trastevere (charming and food-heavy), or around Termini (most convenient for the train arrival and Vatican line). Book in advance; late May is high season.
